At last week’s Junos, I picked up a Swag Bag from the Flare Magazine after-party. For the past couple of days, I’ve been picking through the goodies. The things I don’t need (shampoo, conditioner, feminine products) have been going to my roommate or any female that happens to walk past my apartment. The things I do want, I’ve been sampling or saving for re-gifting.

But there is one item I don’t know what to do with:

The product is called Health Skin Chocolate Soft Chews.

Sounds like your dream product right? The yummy-looking treat says that you can “Achieve healthier, radiant skin with the most delicious chocolate chews! ”

But wait, don’t get too excited. Let me tell you the ingredients: “polyphenol-rich Cocoa seed extract, hydrolyzed collagen, Vitamins B2, C and E, Lycopene, Zinc and Selenium”

Yup, collagen. How yummy do they sound now? While collagen in your chocolate might turn you off, it only made me more interested. So I did what anyone would do:

I gave it as a gift to someone, and then we ate them together.

I’m not a food critic, but yes, they were disgusting. We told ourselves we wouldn’t spit them out and we didn’t, but it was hard. They were sick. Even worse, the package tells you to eat three a day for noticeable results in 21 days. I happened to notice that they didn’t clarify if the results would be positive.

While the idea is interesting and kinda exciting, the execution was less than desirable.

This ended up being an easy re-gift.
