You’ve never seen a Telus store like this before! (Contest closed)

When it comes to shopping for gadgets, shoppers in Calgary’s downtown core can sometimes feel limited. There’s a few options, but if you’re a lover of gadgets and electronics like me, a few is never enough.

So when Telus opened the doors on its new concept in The Core recently, it was a welcome sight for those looking for top of the line gadgets, smart home and music accessories and phones, we can’t forget Telus is also a cell phone company.

But you’d be forgiven if you did while you were in the store. And I think that’s sorta the point. Because here’s the thing about cell phone stores: Unless you’re a client of a particular cell phone company, you really don’t have a need to go into their store. Well, now Telus is changing what you think about cell phone stores, and more importantly, why you go in them.

The new store is filled to the brim with the coolest electronics including cameras, NEST accessories, toys, FitBits, designer headphones and really anything you could want out of a store with top of the line electronics.a

I’ll be honest, I’m not a Telus cellphone customer, but since their new store has opened, I’ve popped in several times to cross off some items off of my Christmas list. Okay, I’ll be even more honest, the gifts were for me. Self-gifting is important this time of year. And once I went in to use their handy cell phone charging stations.

And you don’t need to be a marketing professor to know that if you like a store’s experience, you’ll keep going back and eventually, if you weren’t a customer before, you’ll start thinking about it. I gotta say, I love it.
