You may remember one of my posts from last month about STORYHIVE, a contest for the creative minds in BC and Alberta to come up with the next hit web series. Well, the time for submissions is over.

Unbelievably, here were more than 120 submissions out of BC and over 50 out of Alberta. And now  you and me get to help chose the top 15! All of the web series pitch submissions are now posted on STORYHIVE.com.

After the voting is complete, each contestant who made the shortlist will be awarded a $10,000 grant to make the 3-8 minute pilot episode of their web series. That means in total TELUS, who is the sponsor behind STORYHIVE, will be giving out will be giving out $150,000 in grants before the winner is even announced.

I think this is a fantastic way to give voters the best to choose from. For anyone who has worked in or with video production – it can be an expensive hobby. To create quality work you need to put in some top quality dollar. When it comes time for Phase 03 (final voting), it will be great for the viewers to watch grade A work from the web series hopefuls.

Make sure you get on and vote – and share your favorites!
