Earlier this year we decided to go to New York City for a few days of humidity and musicals. I love musicals, I listen to them all the time, but when you go to New York, there’s so many musicals, choosing which ones to see can be stressful.

But this particular trip was easy because I knew which musical I wanted to see more than any other, and that’s Waitress. Since it premiered in 2015, I think I’ve listened to the soundtrack more than any other soundtrack, and I’m counting my daily listening routine of Hamilton. The music is by Sara Bareilles and it’s based on the 2007 movie of the same name that starred Keri Russell.

Waitress is one of those musicals that’s for everyone. It’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s fun to listen to, it’s sad, it’s emotional, it’s just wonderful. It packs so much into it’s story, that you’re constantly captivated by the songs and delicious pie-themed love story. I should clarify that the show is not about someone falling in love with a pie, it’s about love, and there’s pies involved. Well, you just have to see it to see what I mean.

And I’m sooooooo excited that Waitress is coming to Calgary from Nov 19 – 24, 2019th. Tickets are on sale now and prices start at just $45.

And as luck would have it, I have a pair of tickets to giveaway to opening night, on November 19th.

To be entered to win, head to the comments section, and tell me the name of your favourite pie (you can even dream up your favourite pie) and who you’d like to share it with.

Contest runs until November 8th. I’ll do a random draw of all the entries.
