>You may not know the name Jay Malinowski, but you’ve definitely heard about his band, Bedouin Soundclash. For the past couple of years, they have been selling out their campus shows all across Canada.
Taking a break from the band, Malinowski has just released his first solo effort called Bright Lights and Bruises. The first single of the album is called Santa Monica, check it out below.

The song is good and all, but….I’m not going to lie, I’m kinda over the whole, ‘I’m going to write a long about Santa Monica’ thing. It is all just a little too Emo for me. I can think of about three different songs that all feature this apparently mythical California city. Obviously no one is going to top Savidge Garden’s version, so couldn’t Malinowski have picked another city? How about Saint John or Moosejaw. They both have nice rings to them.
I’ve yet to listen to the whole album, but the first song is definitely promising.
