First things first, just wanted to be clear that this isn’t sponsored. I saw the campaign online and thought it was clever.

Ahhh!  It’s finally happening. Canada’s big businesses are starting to stop taking themselves so seriously. I love it. I love it because people are always talking about companies online, so why not get in on the fun. Some companies are better at it than others, and we can save that for another day, but for now, I wanted to say how much I love Telus’ new campaign about the no doubt endless array of angry tweets they get about their company.

It’s what a gentle  rip-off of Jimmy Kimmels’ CelebritiesReading Mean Tweets, Telus switched it up and has their employees reading some of the um….not to nice….tweets they receive. Of course there’s a little Telus plug at the end, but I’m okay with that.

If nothing else, making a Telus employee say out loud “@BigBootyRussian” is the funniest thing I’ve heard today.

This is the second time this week a big company poked fun at itself. Sears did a wonderful job it with its new weird new commercial with Mike Myers.

What’s going on? What’s next, contract free cell phone plans? Ha!

  1. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
