I don’t really like to talk about it too much, but I have a pretty famous relative. Music icon Van Morrison.
Of course, I use the term “related†very loosely. We share a last name, that means we are related, right? I mean…we are probably related. Like a solid 1 to 2 percent chance. Does he buy me Christmas gifts? No. Should he? I wish.
But I don’t like to get too personal on the blog. Anyway, Coulsin/Uncle Van was on CBC Radio One’s Q with Jian Ghomeshi and apparently gave an “eye-opening and candid†interview yesterday and I’ve never been more proud of someone I tell people that I’m related to.
And that’s a lot of people. I don’t know how Ghomeshi got the normally reclusive singer to talk so openly, but the interview was easily one of the longest and most in-depth interviews Morrison has given in decades. I should know, he is such a drag at Christmas dinners.
My great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother would be so pleased. Well done cousin/uncle.
You can listen to the interview completely uncut, bad words and all, on the Q’s website.
