Even though I’m from there, I had never heard of New Brunswick ice village until today!
Thanks to the incredible ice footage by photographer Derek Grant, people can see the scope of this tiny ice village that forms during the year’s coldest months. Â The village sits on the outside of Rothesay, New Brunswick and is home to about 100 ice fishing cabins. The ice is so sturdy that it can not only hold the cabins, it seems to be managing the vehicles as well!
The ice fishing season usually runs from December to March and it actually has its own the honourary mayor!
This tiny town might the opportunity I’ve been looking for to buy my first home! Â Last year, a real estate agent actually posted a video for one of the huts that was for sale! I love that he says the home, hut, house, whatever you want to call it has curb appeal!
