Why’d the chicken cross the road?
To get new feet of course.

The University of Calgary unveiled some new feet today. But these aren’t your regular ol’ feet. No, these are chicken feet. Which is something different than “chicken legs”, which was my high school nickname.

It seems that researchers at the University of Calgary have created feet, which were printed using a 3D printer and they’ve now given new life to a rooster named Foghorn.

You see, Foghorn was discovered earlier this year. He had lost both of his feet, most likely to frost bite. With just stumps where his feet used to be, Foghorn couldn’t walk and likely not long for this world. But researchers swooped in and gave this rooster a new lease on life.

The feet were created using scans of turkey feet and after a few tries, they were finally able to figure out the design that would give Foghorn something to crow about.

You can read the whole story here.
