Oh how I loving in a world where Veronica Mars is the gift that keeps giving. After tragically being canceled after only three seasons, the series starring then unknown Kristen Bell, was resurrected this year as a relatively successful Kickstarter movie. But many fans thought that that would be the end of it, but no so fast!
This fall, a spin off of Veronica Mars will premiere on CTV’s online channel Extend. The new web series comes from the show’s creator Rob Thomas and is called “Play it Again, Dick.” It stars actor Ryan Hansen as himself, as he begs his former “Veronica Mars” castmates to get his character, Dick Casablancas, his own spin-off show. And yes, that means much of the show’s original cast will making cameos.
The show is actually the baby of the CW, but CTV bought the rights to the series to air on their digital channel, which already includes eleven other series, including spinoffs of “Saving Hope” and “Arrow.”
