Trailer: ‘Fargo’ highlights a chilly Calgary

For the past few months, Calgarians like myself have been on celebrity watch. That’s because FX’s new show, Fargo is being shot in and around Calgary. The series, which is based on the Academy Award winning movie, features huge stars like Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk and Kate Walsh.

Every day my Twitter feed seems to fill up with people who saw one of the stars shopping along 17th Ave or dining at any number of restaurants. I, so far, haven’t seen any of them. But that hasn’t stopped me from being super excited to see the show, which I think is going to be really great. Especially on a network like FX, which really goes for darker stories like American Horror Story, The Americans and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Two trailers for the show were just released and while it doesn’t reveal much, it does give you a sense of at least of the tone of the show: cold and murdery.

Fargo, will be a 10-hour limited series and will debut April 15th.
