Just wanted to quickly express my condolences to the five Canadians that lost their lives in Afghanistan today. Four of them were soldiers, while one of them, Michelle Lang, was a reporter with the Calgary Herald.

The Department of National Defence had not yet released the names of the four soldiers killed in the explosion because of difficulties in notifying next of kin.
Thank you to all of our Canadian troops that are over there fighting. We often forget about all the other Canadians in war-torn countries that are there reporting and doing amazing work.
