Here’s something I never thought would happen:
A post about a hockey game!

The 2009 Canadian Cancer Society Face Off Against Cancer is an annual hockey tournament and this year it will be held September 11-13, 2009 in Calgary.

The tournament places local celebrities (wonder why wasn’t I asked?*) and NHL Alumni alongside hockey-playing participants to raise money in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Over the past two years this tournament has been incredibly successful, raising an amazing $500,000.00 towards the fight against cancer!!!
All money raised from the Face Off Against Cancer supports the funding of cancer research, those living with cancer, providing comprehensive information and services for those living with cancer, promoting prevention strategies and advocating for healthy public policy.
The Cancer Society is currently looking for participants for the Face Off.  So if you have been affected by cancer or you want to kick an old NHLers ass on the ice, visit the website to sign up and start raising money!
*I know I’m not a local celebrity, but it doesn’t hurt to think of yourself as one.
