A festival of puppets! No no, wait, hear me out – it’s actually really cool. This festival gathers some of the world’s most talented puppeteers in a lineup of performances that are hilarious, heartbreaking and wild. Some of this year’s highlights include Punch and Judy in Afghanistan, Beatrix P. Noseworthy’s Peculiar Puppetronic Phenomena, the Dolly Wiggler Cabaret and an evening with Canada’s master of marionettes, Ronnie Burkett.

Mike already plugged The Big Taste, but it deserves a repeat mention because it’s amaaaaazing! Over 70 of Calgary’s best restaurants, offering succulent feasts at prices that we low-budget schmoes can afford? Yes, please. It’s only on ’til Monday, so snag a reservation while it lasts and treat yourself to an unforgettable meal.

Decidedly Jazz Danceworks – or “DJD”, as we artsy insiders call it – is one of the things that makes Calgary great. The company’s unique style of contemporary jazz dance is dazzling and surprising, and if you’ve never seen them perform, it’s time. This show features “the DJD company dancers at their savage, frenzied, kick-ass best”, performing the choreography of Kimberley Cooper in a “magical forest”. Sounds like a fantastic date night to me!

Sweet weblog! I located it although browsing on Yahoo News. Do you might have any suggestions on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never appear to get there! Thank you
