I had been looking forward to this weekend since August. My cousin and I were to make the trek to Jasper, Alberta and enjoy a quiet long weekend deep in the mountains. The highway to Jasper is netoriously dangerous so were extra cautious for fear of dying before I had a chance to watch an episode of Freaks & Geeks. Well….5 minutes into the snowy Jasper Highway we tailspinned, almost hit a guard rail and ended up in the other lane. Luckily there was no traffic coming. The snow was getting heavier by the second so we gathered ourselves and decided to keep going, and by keep going I mean 5 minutes later we tail spinned again in ended up in a ditch. The ditch was so deep that we could barely open our door cause of the snow. (take a breath mom, we were ok). Because as luck would have it as we spun into the ditch the park warden drove
by and quickly came to our aid and called a tow truck for us. The roads were getting worse so he had to go (thanks?) and we waited for the tow truck. As luck would have it to oil rig workers happened to drive by and offered to help us out. It took them about 25 minutes to get us out, but they did. We also gave a free show to the Japanese tour bus that slowed down to take pictures and videos of us.

So we called it a day and decided to turn around and try to get rooms at the Chateau Lake Louise. Turns out the girl checking us in with my staff discount is terrified of car accidents and felt super bad for us. And that is the story of how we ended up with deluxe suite over looking the majestic Lake Louise.

Here are some pics below of our weekend.
I hope you all had a good weekend too. (Keep breathing mom)

(ok pictures are coming, the internet I steal isn’t working right now)

(This was the cool window seat in our room!)
