>OK so I’m paying a lot of Yuen to use the Internet right now but I just wanted to fill you all in about my first full day in Beijing. I know many of you have been tossing and turning with anxious anticipation. I even heard of one unconfirmed report of a suicide. But I’m sure they are unrelated. Mike’s Bloggity Blog Blob assumes to responsibility.
For quickness sakes I”m going to be making this point form. No complaints.
-Today I took a chairlift up the Great Wall of China and a toboggan down. And now I wasn’t on Opium.
-Awesome irony: You have to pay an admission charge to enter the Forbidden Palace
-My friend Kim and I get our pictures taken everywhere. And although I wish it was for being famous I have a feeling that it is because I am Caucasian and wear sandals.
–Apparently 25 degrees Celsius is too cold for sandals. Who knew
-I went to the Silk Market tonight with my amazing friends Jill and Grace. Together I grew some cajones. Not that my cajones grew together. That would be confusing.
-I saw a person after he got hit by a car. Sadly he won’t be reading Mike’s Bloggity Blog Blob anymore.
-It is a law that pedestrians have no right of way in Beijing. No joke. It’s scary. Cars also don’t stay in the lines, the shoulder counts as a lane, they don’t use blinkers and most cars have some gadget in them that makes it sound like they are cops so people move. I also don’t think I will ever get the sound of honking out of my head.
–Tienanmen Square is one of the most impressive thing these blues eyes have ever seen
-I also got to see some of the amazing looking Olympic structures that are being built for August. After which they will be tearnig them down. Also, no joke.
They also have stores that only sell pirated DVDs. Movies, Tvshows you name it they sell it. They have boxed sets for shows that haven’t even finished airing for this season yet. This is ridiculously illegal yet they have stores. I may or may not have bought several. My lips are sealed.
Alright I HAVE to go to bed. Hopefully some more in the morning.
So now….go live your life. Stop hitting reload. You have a family to take care of dammit!
