(The last picture of me as a 25 year old)*
             Â
Friday is a solemn day.
Friday marks the last day I will be able to say that I am a 25 year old.  Phew, it’s even hard to type. But please don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those guys who dwells on the fact that he is one year older.  I hate those cards that make fun of how old someone is because really who actually wants to be younger?  Re-living high school?  No thanks.  Going bald all over again? Nope, I’m good. I’m honestly OK with 26 being just one day away on my Cranium Day Calendar.Â
But as another year in the life of Michael comes to a close, I hope that I am taking every day as it comes and I want to be sure that I am taking advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. Whether it be professionally, personally or at The Gap.
So what do Prince William, Kelly Clarkson, Anna Paquin, Leann Rhimes, Andy Roddick, Lacey Chabert and Anne Hathaway all have in common with me? Â They were all born in 1982. Â What do we not have in common? Â Um….a LOT! Â Did you even read those names? Â But I’m not worried about it. Â They’ve peaked. Â Anything they do from this point on is not going won’t be as important as the things they’ve done in the past. Â Unless they make a Mean Girls 2. Â Then all bets are off.
I’m not there yet….I hope.
So I’m going to enjoy Friday. Â I’m not going to worry that Calgary got 15cms of snow. Â I’m going to go to work, probably be late. Â Then I’m going to go to a baby shower (the con of being the only guy in an office of all women). Â Then back to work. Â After that I’m going to hang out with some friends who are already way older than me….at least by a couple of months.
So I take back my “Friday is a solemn day” comment at the beginning.  Friday is going to be great.Â
26 is going to be even better. Â
