Cirque du Soleil is coming to Calgary this summer with its production of LUZIA, described as a waking dream of Mexico – a sumptuous world suspended between dreams and reality.
Under the Big Top, LUZIA is full of visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances. The show features mesmerizing acts by trapeze fliers, hoop divers, aerialists and contortionists, all set against the backdrop of an imaginary Mexico. If the show preview is any indication, LUZIA takes Cirque to a whole new level.
For the first time ever, Cirque’s travelling show incorporates water as a primary character. A Rain Curtain, powered by a 3,500-litre water tank upstage of the tent and a 3,000-litre pool built into the stage, adds a layer of artistry and danger to the show. LUZIA will show in Calgary from August 16 – September 15, 2019. As always, Cirque du Soleil is fun for all ages, and tickets start at $49.
