This is a sponsored post for The Core.
Guys who buy themselves everything, are often the most difficult to shop for. I should know, I’m one of them. With my family living across the country and more active online dating profiles then I can count, I rarely wait around for the perfect gift, so I usually just buy it myself.
So what to buy someone like me? The answer is easier than you might expect, here’s my list of five gift suggestions that every guy will like, no matter how much stuff they already have. (All of these items are available at The Core, which is throwing one of the biggest parties of the season…all for a good cause. More details on that below. )
As someone who is notoriously difficult to shop for, I always appreciate a good tie, because to me, it’s like you just bought me ten different outfits. A good tie can make old shirts look new, plus thanks to hipsters, ties can now be worn during day or at night. They are casual enough to have on during a lunch date, yet formal enough to wear for a night on the town.  If you’re looking for a tie to buy someone, try to find one with a few different colours in it, that will increase the chances that it will match your guy’s wardrobe. (Club Monaco, $59)
Cameras are always a safe bet for when you’re looking at gifts. But there are lots of crappy cameras out there, so you’ll want to tread carefully. My favourite camera right now is the Canon G12. A near perfect camera that’s a mix of SLR and Point and Shoot. At $549, the camera is packed with amazing features, so you are definitely getting your moneys worth. I’ve been using mine for the past two years for everything for Red Carpet shots to capturing the beauty of the mountains and I’m constantly amazed with its high-quality pictures. It’s so easy that they’ll be taking pictures with it before you’re done opening gifts. (Blacks, $549)
It’s the holidays, so why not give with a conscience? Tom shoes are all the rage right now and no wonder, with every pair you purchase; TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. The guy on your list will look fashionable and you’ll have done a good deed all at the same time. And because the shoes are so lightweight and comfy, it really is the best all-round gift to give this season. (Locale, $60)
It’s always hard to buy a good jacket for someone in Calgary, mostly because the weather is always changing. Do you spend the money on a big heavy coat or should you just invest in a nice spring coat? Depends on the day, or even the hour. That’s why I’m a fan of vests. There’s enough heat to keep you warm, but when that Chinook inevitably rolls in, your arms are free to help keep you cool.  This vest at H&M is even more perfect because it’s made from recycled wool. By helping little bit cooler, your guy will stay nice and warm.($59.95)
Any chance I get to sing the praises of Friday Night Lights, I will do it. The Emmy winning series is now available as a complete series and it’s simply perfection. One of the reasons is that it is so good is that it really is a TV show for any type of guy you might have in your life. There’s lots of football for the sports fan. There’s enough drama to keep even the sensitive guy happy. And if nothing else, Minka Kelly, lots and lots of Minka Kelly. I seriously can’t imagine a more perfect gift.  (HMV, $89.99)

CONTEST:
So obviously my gift guide is awesome and you’re going to want to pick my suggestions all up for whoever you have your list, BUT if you would could only pick one of the items, which would it be? Leave a comment and you could win $100 gift card to The Core. Obviously this is a sorta Calgary-centric prize, BUT everyone knows someone in Calgary, so it makes a great gift if you don’t live here!
I’ll do the draw on Tuesday, November 29th at 11:59pm MST.
Good luck!
Those vests look pretty nice, so that would be my pick.
I want that camera so I could take photos as good as the ones Bloggity takes.
Friday Night Lights! This was hands down the best show on tv. I was so sad to see it end!
