Earlier this week, I was walking around Market Collective, an independent arts market, that also features bands and DJs playing throughout the day, which is where I first heard of J.J Shiplett.   Honestly, if you were there it was hard not to hear him.  His voice is honestly, well, it blew my mind.  I immediately stopped what I was doing and listened to his entire set, as did most of the room. Twitter immediately light up with people wondering who was the guy singing on stage.  It was seriously a spectacular set.

After the market I went home and did some  research and I was so pleased to see that the he had his own website, along with all the social channels of real artists (you’d be surprised how many bands don’t have anything close to this.)  Now, I don’t know much about J.J, but it would appear that he is independent, but I’m guessing that won’t be for long.

I checked out a video he has on YouTube and I could immediately picture him on The Voice and how all the judges would instantly go nuts and their chairs would turn around instantly. Seriously, it’s so good.  According to his site, he has a few shows lined up for the rest of the year, but I’m pretty much just going to book him to play in my house every day. Is that weird?  Probably. But if not being weird means I don’t get to listen to J.J Shiplett., then I don’t want to be normal. Honestly, if a voice like his can’t “make it” I honestly don’t know who can.

Have a listen, you’ll be glad you did!
