Ugh. I heard this might be true, but I was really hoping it wouldn’t be. The Calgary Stampede has officially canceled all the concerts at the Saddledome during the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
When the flood waters rose in Calgary last week, the Saddledome took a brutal hit, with millions of gallons of water flooding the arena. The repairs won’t be done in time for the first concert on July 10th, so the Stampede had no choice but to cancel.
The series line up was to feature Carly Rae Jepsen, Tim McGraw, Dixie Chicks and KISS. I had tickets to Dixie Chicks and I had been excited for months, so you’ll have to excuse me while I have a little cry. I know in perspective of everything that is going on around Calgary, it’s not that big of deal, but what can you do, right?
Here’s part of the Stampede release:
Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets. All ticket holders will still receive admission to Stampede on the day of their concert by showing their concert tickets. We are hoping to reschedule these shows at a later date and we’ll know more about potential rescheduling opportunities after Stampede. Ticketholders should continue to check this site and Ticketmaster’s websites for rescheduling updates and/or refund information.
Now, let’s just all watch a few Dixie Chicks videos, shall we?
