Of all the things I thought we had to worry about in this world, alien mustaches was not one of them….until today.

Intel & Toshiba have launched a new social film series called The Power Inside and the first episode is now streaming. What’s a social film, you ask? Well, it’s a movie that you get to be a a part of. The creative minds behind the film are asking anyone to audition in the revolutionary film project, which will allow viewers to appear in the series by submitting their own homemade videos and photos. The hipster-skewing film series is directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon of Blades of Glory fame and mixes some world-ending destruction with a funny and quirky cast, including Craig Roberts, Analeigh Tipton and Harvey Keitel. So the social film allows you to star alongside some of the industry coolest upcoming stars, oh and a Hollywood legend. Not too bad for not having to leave the safety found in front of your laptop screen.

But back to the alien mustaches for a moment….because you really you can never talk about alien mustaches enough. Sure it sounds like a far-fetched idea, but if aliens were going to invade, a hipster mustache would be the perfect way to do it, wouldn’t it? I mean, we all agree they’re annoying, but no one would expect them to behind complete world domination, right? That’s the basic concept behind The Power Inside.

So far, I’m only episode in, with the other episodes in the series being released in the coming weeks on via Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.  Judging from what I’ve seen, there’s still lots of laughs, twists, turns and oh yes, alien mustaches to come.
