This post is presented by Ritz To Go

You might remember a few months ago, I tweeted about eating a box of Ritz crackers for lunch. Well, I actually did do that. I guess the joke was that I do that more often than you’d probably believe. A few weeks later, Ritz noticed the tweet and reached out to tell me about their Ritz To Go option. “Clever,” I thought. “That will help me manage my Ritz addiction.” So, inspired by our little Twitter exchange, I thought I write up the top 6 times during summer I found a pack of Ritz To Go to be my best friend.

Summer Air Travel
Have you ever been on a delayed flight at the airport, in the summer, during a long weekend? It is a comparable terror to Christmas travel, except the kids are rowdier and there are more people sitting around without their shoes on.

Once you get a seat near your gate in peak travel season, you stay – like your life depends on it. You do not get up to go buy a magazine and you aren’t going to buy a snack. You will hold out until you get on the plane for the 14 grams of pretzels if you know what’s good for you. Thank God I was wise enough to put a Ritz To Go in my carry on prior to leaving my apartment. Those crackers saved my life…and saved me from having to sit on the floor, or worse, by the children’s play area.

Going to the Beach
During the summer most folks find some sort of water to tan beside during the few days it is hot enough to do so. When I go to the beach, I go for the long haul. None of this “in and out” business. If I am going to lotion up my head with 100SPF, I need to be in the sand for at least 6 hours.

When I go to the beach I bring a towel, and the aforementioned sunscreen, but not much else. I am not one of those people who packs a cooler with enough food to feed a small orphanage before heading out for the day. You know what fits in your towel? A package of Ritz To Go. You know what can sustain you until someone with a cooler offers you some of their food? A package of Ritz To Go.

The Morning After
It’s still patio season, so of course “just one more drink” is a phrase I may say one or two times too many during an evening out. The morning after is slightly uncomfortable and, while we’ve all developed remedies for helping us “feel better”, you can’t go wrong with eating some Ritz To Go crackers until you start your plan of attack.

Desk Lunch of Champions
It’s not like I haven’t eaten an entire box of Ritz crackers while sitting at my desk working through lunch. The box is basically the size of my childhood lunch box and it just felt natural. But I didn’t need a doctor to tell me that I probably shouldn’t eat a box of any crackers every day, so Ritz To Go alternative gave me the goodness of the Ritz lunch without nutritionists judging me. (I did have to go buy a lunch box though, but that is the price of beauty.)

The Hummus Companion
Who said Ritz can only be eaten with cheese or peanut butter? Don’t let the Ritz sandwiches dictate your life (although those are also delicious). I have found that Ritz To Go Everything Flavour was the best companion to hummus. Pita chips? Other crackers? Nope, they do not compare with Ritz. Sorry.

You know who likes hummus? Everyone. You know who will love you if you bring Ritz crackers and hummus as your dish to the neighborhood BBQ? Everyone.

Bribing Children
If you live near family in the summer you will know that there will be one or two days that a relatives children will be given to you so mom can have a reprieve.

Take the kids to the park, tell them they will get a package of Ritz To Go if they behave and then sit back and eat a package to yourself. The kids will be great AND you will end up saving money on the ice cream that you would have had to promise them if you didn’t have Ritz To Go handy.

Running Late
You know what I dislike about crackers? Their constant need for a companion. They are so needy. If you eat them alone you are left feeling a little dead inside and your mouth gets dry. Not with Ritz. When they say To Go, they mean to go. They don’t mean To Go…plus bring some jam and a knife and a napkin as well.

If you are running late, for any reason, just grab a Ritz To Go and – BOOM – instant nourishment. Thanks Ritz To Go, for always being there for me when my alarm was not.
