I didn’t really want to talk about it before, in case ghosts read blogs, but last night I stayed in one of the most haunted hotels in Canada and I was terrified.
The hotel is called The Hume and it’s located in Nelson, BC. Most people that stay here always have a spooky story to tell. Whether it is apparitions showing up in the rooms, or hearing voices or smelling weird smells. The hotel itself sorta reminds me of the one from The Haunted or The Shining. Yikes.
If I’m being honest, nothing specific happened to actually scare me, but the whole ambiance of the place is enough to scare even Stephen King. The creaky floors, the long winding staircases, oh and let’s not forget the creepy black and white photos of children in all the old rooms!
Of course, it didn’t help that I read all about the scary stories while sitting in my room. Needless to say, after that I sat in the lobby reading until I absolutely had to go to bed.
But just before I went to bed, I did try to talk to the ghosts. Just things like, I believe in you, I know you are real, I really like your hotel, but that I was scared and would really appreciate it if they didn’t scare me. I feel like ghosts are a reasonable people.
Above is a picture of my room, you can tell it’s mine because there are chips on the bed. Always a tell-tale sign. How creepy is it that the chair is right by the window? I didn’t put it there and I wasn’t about to move it. I just assumed some crazy ghost person liked looking out the windows and I wasn’t going to argue.
I was so happy when the morning finally came, I showered as quickly as possible and got the hell out of there. I didn’t experience and strange encounters and I wasn’t about to wait around for one!
