We might not be owning the podium, but CTV seems to be owning the Olympics. It seems like everyday, a new television viewing record is broken. And Sunday’s Canada vs. USA hockey game was no exception.
The official Olympic network just released their numbers and a whopping 9.5 million Canadians watched Canada lose to the Americans! The match is officially the most-watched sports program on record. The previous record holder was the Opening Ceremonies, which the game beat by 6%.
To give you some perspective. Two weeks ago, American Idol was the #1 show in Canada with 3.16 Million viewers.
