Canada’s Daniel Powter has been given a dubious honor, the biggest one hit wonder of the decade!
His mom is going to be PISSED.
You’ll remember Powter’s song Bad Day, because it has been stuck in your head ever since the fifth season of American Idol, when it was used as the elimination song.
The prize (is it a prize) was awarded by Billboard Magazine, who say they used the measurement of “how high their big song climbed on the chart compared to how far down the tally their subsequent highest-charting effort peaked.â€
Powter is the only Canadian on the list, but other artists include: Lou Bega, Macy Grey, Eden’s Crush, S Club 7, Cassidy, Vanessa Carlton, James Blunt, Eiffel 65 and thankfully Hinder.
side note: I’m working on a theory that bald men who pretend they aren’t bald by wearing toques are destined to fail as musicians. Example one would be Powter, example two is Canadian Idol champ Brian Melo. Discuss.
