I’ve been looking forward to this album since discovering Ortega at the Calgary Folk Music Festival this past summer.Apparently she’s been building quite a fan base in Toronto for while now, so I’m so happy that the sultry singer is finally on my radar.
Based on the nothing but my impression of her music, I feel like Ortega is celebrating the choice she may have made to not go down the pop music road. She’s gritty, edgy and an uber-talented singer/songwriter, who’ll no doubt be playing to huge crowds some day.
