I’ll be honest, while I love Netflix Canada, I don’t always dive right into their original series, but that hasn’t stopped me from losing sleep over my excitement for the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which will be released on the streaming service on March 6th

The show has an interesting history because it was initially supposed to be an NBC series, but in late 2014, after not being able to find a spot on their schedule, Netflix picked the show up and immediately renewed it for a second season!

One of the reasons I’m so excited about the show is that it’s created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the geniuses behind 30 Rock. It stars Ellie Kemper (The Office, Bridesmaids) as Kimmy, who escapes a doomsday cult and decides to reclaim her life and start over in New York City. The show also stars 30 Rock’s Jane Krakowski! Fey technically doesn’t star in the show, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she made a cameo or nine.

I love that this show is already renewed for a second season, it makes investing a new show much more enjoyable.

I had some pretty good laughs watching the trailer for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and have completely cleared my calendar for March 6th. Normally I like to pace myself when it comes to Netflix shows, but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to be patient with this show, it looks perky, fresh and devilishly funny. I can’t wait.
