All over the world, politicians are often caught tweeting or texting scandalous things. Here in Alberta, well our politicians are caught tweeting Drake lyrics all in an effort to get funding. That’s Alberta for ya!
It all start innocently enough:
Had the pleasure of bumping into two Calgary mayors today.
By the way, where are you @Nenshi? #lpca #lpc pic.twitter.com/jHFv0QqDtU
— Kent Hehr (@kenthehr) February 27, 2016
But that left Calgary’s popular mayor feeling left out:
Where were you? I waited all night. https://t.co/HGJ5YIWCcy — Naheed Nenshi (@nenshi) February 27, 2016
And that’s when the Drake came out:
@nenshi You used to call me on my cell phone.
— Kent Hehr (@kenthehr) February 28, 2016
But it didn’t stop there:
Only late night when I need your … Funding for public transit and affordable housing. https://t.co/T0ac1Cdjqx — Naheed Nenshi (@nenshi) February 28, 2016
Which got some people wondering:
@kenthehr @nenshi are you guys calling each other late night when you need some love?
— Axmeg Breezy (@medmagnet) February 28, 2016
But worry not:
@medmagnet @kenthehr just some funding.
— Naheed Nenshi (@nenshi) February 28, 2016
And unlike those late night calls, Mayor Nenshi is making his intentions very clear.

— Naheed Nenshi (@nenshi) February 28, 2016
I can’t be sure, but I think Nenshi just got his wish.
♪ Ever since I left the city, @Nenshi / you, you got exactly what you asked for ♪ #cdnpoli #yyccc https://t.co/0wxKYkl0nF

Of course those familiar with @Nenshi, know that he’s no stranger to causing a stir on Twitter.
