Imagine for a second your grandmother decided to take the stage at an open mic comedy night..in Winnipeg.
Well fortunately for me, I don’t have to, because my 89-year-old grandmother did just that, and I knew she would, she brought the house down. And luckily for you guys, there’s video of the one and only Jean Morrison to prove it.
It was all a part of the Winnipeg’s Gone Wacky contest and up for grabs is a chance to make it to the Top Ten and perform at the Comedy showdown. The winner of that will be named Winnipeg’s Wackiest Amateur Comedian 2011, and she could win a $1,000 and a Blackberry Playbook.
You have to register to vote (which is annoying), but seriously, she’s 89, how could you not want to vote?
My granny has always dreamed about being a stand up comedian, and she’s dabbled a little bit, but I think this was the first time she intentionally went up and had a routine prepared. I can’t imagine ever standing up like she did, especially in a crowd full of comedians.
I’ve watched the video probably nine times already and I continue to be in awe. How lucky am I to have someone that has set the Morrison bar so high, yeah, I’m very, very lucky.
I think this is one of the most important information for me. And i’m glad reading your article. But should remark on few general things, The site style is perfect, the articles is really excellent : D. Good job, cheers
