So I’m so happy to say that after thinking about it since last year, I’m finally going to make it official and donate my face this year’s Movember campaign.
I wanted to do Movember this year, because prostate cancer has affected my family time and time again. My grandfather passed away from the disease and twice, my father has battle prostate cancer.  The cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men – it will afflict 1 in 7 men and is a greater threat for those with a family history of the disease.
So late last night, I shaved my beard and started the month of November clean-shaven and trust me, the sight isn’t pretty. I think I look like Benjamin Button, but hopefully that will change in about three weeks when my facial hair slowly starts to make its way in. It’s already abundantly clear to me that I won’t be winning and moustache contests.
My goal this year is to raise a $1,000. Which seems like a lot of money, especially as we get closer to the holidays, that’s why instead of asking for big donations, I’m challenging 1,000 people to donate one dollar. Yup, that’s it, $1. A loonie. Everyone has that, right? Probably in their pocket right now.
I’ll be chronicling my journey in the world of moustache on my Movember page, coincidentally enough, that’s where you can also make a donation! How convenient is that?
Please click here to donate, thanks in advance!
Excellent read, I just passed this onto a friend who was doing some research on that. And he just bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch! “Feeling passionate about something is like getting a peak at your soul smiling back at you.” by Amanda Medinger.
Usually I do not read article on blogs, but I would like to say that this write-up very forced me to try and do so! Your writing style has been surprised me. Thanks, quite nice post.
