With Christmas right around the corner, malls and neighbourhood shops are packed with busy people trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on their list. It’s an annual tradition that always means one thing: People are selfish.
But I’m not alone in my thinking, I got the idea from Joey off of the show Friends, of all places. I don’t usually agree with the guy, but remember when he tried to convince Pheobe that there was no such thing as an unselfish deed? Well, it turns out, at least in my opinion that Joey was right. Sure it’s hard to think about being selfish at Christmas, after all, it’s the time of giving, but why do we give?
That’s what I wanted to talk about in this week’s Metro column, which is available both online and in print.
Click here to read my column and share your thoughts. Anyone else able to admit that it’s okay to be selfish?
