Here’s a crazy/sad/depressing fact for you: Did you know that Calgary has Canada’s most expensive parking!  Yes, it’s true.  This city, which has more land than anyone else charges more than Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal to park your vehicle.  Actually, it’s so expensive that we’re only second place behind New York City in ALL of North America.  Which is totally reasonable, right?

WRONG.

For years Calgary parking has been ridiculously expensive and we’ve been ruled by the ever unpleasant Calgary Parking Authority.  Well that’s the topic of my column in Metro this week. Why are we letting one organization ruin it for the rest of us.  And yes, I think expensive is the root of many of Calgary’s biggest problems.

What’s the most you paid for parking? Has it ever been worth it?
