I can distinctly remember the day I heard there was going to be a Lego movie. I knew then and there that it would be  terrible, much like movies that could have been cool like Garfield and The Smurfs. When will studios leave my childhood alone!

But here’s the thing, after months of hype for the movie, I think it’ll turn out that I might be wrong.

I’ll let that sink in for a minute.

While the Lego movie is still a week away and I’ve yet to see reviews of the film, so far the marketing, the trailers and now the soundtrack have been, well, awesome.

The first song from the soundtrack was just released and it features the hotter-than-ever Tegan and Sara and the always cool Lonely Island group. (Fun fact: I always type Lonely Planet and then have to retype it.)

Here’s what’s going to happen: You’re going to hit the play button and instantly think, “What the hell is this shit!?”  But then, about 15 seconds into the song, when you realize that you already know all the words, you will start to love it and then you’ll never be able to get the song out of your head.  It’s the “This is the song that doesn’t end” for a modern generation.   This song makes me feel instantly happy and like I’m in an arcade game. You’ll see.

Gah, I actually feel bad telling you to listen to it, because now you’re not going to be able to!  But who cares, but as it turns out, everything is indeed awesome!
