If the idea of paying $75 to see ,what I can only assume will be the most angsty and depressing show of all time, sounds interesting to you, well consider this your lucky day!
It’s just been announced that Alanis Morissette is adapting Jagged Little Pill into a musical-theater show. The timeline isn’t confirmed, but according to USA TODAY, the goal is to workshop it in 2014. But Morissette isn’t doing it alone. She’s teaming up with Broadway veteran Tom Kitt, whose credits include the Tony Award winning Next To Normal. Which, it should be noted, I left halfway through because it was so depressing I couldn’t stop crying.
The show will also feature new music, which Morissette is currently writing.

- It was released…wait for it….18 years ago.
- It was the best selling album of 1995.
- More than 33 million copies of the album were sold around the world.
- Jagged Little Pill won four Grammys, including “Best Female Rock Vocal Performance”, “Best Rock Song”, “Best Rock Album”, and “Album of the Year”. Interestingly enough, Alanis was nominated for “Best New Artist” but didn’t win.
Alanis isn’t the only one working on a Broadway show of her own songs, Sheryl Crowe is also working on a show.
Oh Alanis is back, well I guess this is like a new spot for her. I bet her million fans will be happy to see her again up on stage and now on broadway.
