Remember earlier this year when Canada finally got its own edition of the Amazing Race…only to find out that it wouldn’t be leaving the country? Â Our nation hadn’t been collectively disappointed since Danger Bay was canceled. Â But, in good hands, the first season of the show turned out to be, well, amazing…despite never leaving our fine borders. Thanks to a fantastic cast (Body Break) and challenges that definitely got better and harder as the season went on, by the time Tim and Tim crossed the finished like, I was absolutely ready for season two.
Well, here’s the good news: Season 2 is officially casting!
Even better news: This year, the teams might be going international.
Well, that’s a guess, but one that I hope might be accurate. According to the just-posted eligibility requirements, teams must be prepared to travel abroad: “Your Team must be willing and legally be able to travel within Canada and around the world, on such dates and at such locations as Producer shall designate in its sole discretion.”
Clue #2: “You and your teammate must possess a valid Canadian passport by March 1st, 2014 that is valid for at least six (6) months from that date.”
I mean, why would they put that if they weren’t going to send teams to at least Maine? Â My tiny fingers are definitely hoping the teams will tackle different countries, because I think it makes the game more fair for everyone. Â You could just tell that some of the teams had been to most of the cities in the first season. Even if you had only been there once, that’s a huge advantage!
If you want to apply, applicants MUST go to www.CTV.ca/AmazingRaceCanada to fill out an Online Application. The application deadline at this time is December 26, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, but may be changed at any time.
My dad and I applied last year and I think we might be doing it again this year! Â I’ve always wanted to travel to Maine with him.
