By now you’ve no doubt heard about the devastation of the wildfires that essentially wiped out over 40% of a town called Slave Lake.

The footage, the videos and the real life stories of how quickly a wild fire destroyed so much is, simply put unreal, to believe.  But for so many people, thousands in fact, this is now their reality. I’ve been so moved by the spirit of the small town since Sunday’s fire. So many of them in the area already talking about rebuilding and want to quickly get back to their lives. Sadly, that cannot happen without our help. Donations are obviously needed and as Canadians, I feel like we all have a responsibility to help out the small Northern Alberta town.

If you think you can donate, even a few dollars, here are two organizations that will be collecting money.

The Salvation Army

Alberta Red Cross
