A couple of days ago, I mentioned that tonight the Canadian networks were joining together for the television telethon Canada For Haiti.
Since then, producers must have been really been working their butts off, because they have amassed a huge group of Canadian of talent.
Here is what we know so far:
The benefit will include live performances from The Tragically Hip and K’naan.
The show also features musical guests Justin Bieber, Céline Dion, Nelly Furtado, Sarah McLachlan, Barenaked Ladies, Simple Plan, David Foster, Chantal Kreviazuk, Raine Maida and Measha Brueggergosman.
Movie and television stars will also be lending their talents, including James Cameron, Michael J. Fox, Ryan Reynolds, William Shatner, Rachelle Lefevre, Joshua Jackson, Pamela Anderson, Jason Reitman, Eugene Levy, Norman Jewison, Tom Jackson, Will Arnett, Sandra Oh, Brent Butt, Hugh Dillon, Mike Holmes, Rick Mercer and Alex Trebek and humanitarian Craig Kielburger. Althetes Steve Nash and Wayne Gretzky will be participating, and Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor-General Michaëlle Jean are going back to work and will also have special messages for Canadians.
I have no clue how they are going to fit all of those people in a single hour of television, but it is pretty much guaranteed to be a moving and powerful sixty minutes.
This night will also be important for Simple Plan because I could have sworn they had all died, so it will nice to see if I was right or not.
We all know I won’t have plans on a Friday night, so I’ll be watching. But if you won’t be able to watch, you can already donate.
