Saying goodbye is never easy. No matter how much we prepare for it, no matter how much we are expecting it. We just never seem ready to say goodbye to loved ones.

Tonight we have a chance to say goodbye. Goodbye to Lorelei, Rory, Luke, Sookie and the rest of the citizens of Stars Hollow. That’s right tonight the CW/Global will air the last new episode of Gilmore Girls.

It seems weird to think that Gilmore Girls has been around for 7 years. I remember when it first started the ratings were awful and it was the critics that kept it around for a second year. Luckily fans soon fell for the witty banter and complicated love lives of the Gilmores.

I’ve never really been the biggest fan. I was at best a casual viewer. Watching the very special episodes or when there was nothing better to do. But I will be watching tonight, ok…..I probably won’t watch it live. I’ll probably TIVO it for a rainy day. But I think I’ll end up missing this show. There probably isn’t a show out there with wittier or poppier writing. And no one drop a pop reference better than the Gilmores.

The best thing about bidding this show adieu is that is gives Veronica Mars a better chance of getting picked up. But we will have to wait until this Thursday to find out for sure.

So for now, Goodbye Gilmore Girls. It was fun while it lasted and I look forward to seeing both Lauren Graham and Alexis Bleidel on whatever their next projects might be.
