Christmas shopping season is upon us.
I like to think I’m an excellent gift giver – I focus on the thoughtfulness of the gift to distract my friends and family from the lack of monetary value involved. Works every time.
But this year, I’m behind. It’s been a busy month, and I’ll admit that the holiday season has not swept me up the way it typically has by this time of the year.
Thankfully, the folks at The CORE are actually pro at putting Calgary into the Christmas spirit. Each year they present ‘Twas the Night – which is billed as ‘Calgary’s biggest free holiday shopping event’, and it’s true! I’ve attended this event for the last few years, and it’s always a fun night out. This year it will feature a performance by Juno-nominated jazz crooner, Matt Dusk, the lighting of The CORE’s massive two-story Christmas tree, a red carpet hosted by Tanya Kim, roving musicians, and one-night-only shopping deals throughout the mall.
The best part is that it’s FREE. Donations will be collected at all entrances for the YMCA of Calgary’s Strong Kids program – 100% of donations raised will support Calgary children/youth so they can belong, grow, and thrive.
Make sure you RSVP to make sure you don’t miss out on this amazing event!
