Is it me or have some Canadian provinces been upping their game when it comes to tourism videos lately! Â Yesterday, Destination BC released it’ new video and it’s looks like something out of Peter Jackson movie. So incredible.
Newfoundland and Labrador
Of course, we can’t talk about amazing videos about Canada without talking about Canada’s newest province, who’ve for years have been putting out amazing and imaginative videos. As someone who’s been to Newfoundland a few times, I can assure that you that yes, it really does look like that.
Although, I have to admit, I saw this campaign a bit differently after someone once tweeted: “Has anyone else noticed that someone is always running in these videos? What are they running from?” I wish I remembered who said that, it’s one of my favourite tweets ever.
I’m biased, but I think Travel Alberta’s campaigns have been amazing too. It can be hard to sum up a province that has urban centres, rocky mountains, deserts, deep forests and wide-open praries, but their Remember to Breath campaign has left many a traveller, well, breathless
Earlier this year, Manitoba launched a new campaign to help attract visitors to their province.
Of course we all know that Manitoba has polar bears (which I will see someday if it’s the last thing that I do.) But for me the biggest selling point of these new videos was the beluga whales. I had no idea you could kayak or even snorkle with the whales in Manitoba. Why is that what we are all talking about every day of life? Â That just seems to me to be one of the most incredible adventures in all of Canada. Consider it added to my already lengthy bucket list.
They don’t get much simplier or more beautiful than this. No music, no words, just the earth and the stars doing their thing at the highest tides in the world. My only wish was that the video was longer, but I’m guessing it gets cut because the tide was coming for the camera. Just beautiful.
