A lot of musicians in the maritimes are going to be drinking Alpine today in celebration!

The 2011 ECMA nominations were announced today and Fredericton’s David Myles came up the big winner. The folk singer/songwriter was nominated in a total of five different categories! A total of seven other bands were rewarded with four nominations each. They include Christina Martin, Dave Gunning, Lennie Gallant, Slowcoaster, The Stanfields, The Trews and Wintersleep.

Other nominees from my hometown of Fredericton include: The Arkateks and Measha Brueggergosman.

The awards will be handed out April 16th in Charlottetown, PEI. Man do I wish I could be there!  The ECMAs are always such a blast!

Here are some of the nominations, click here for a full list.  Congrats to all the nominees!
