Living in Calgary during Stampede, you never know what you’re going to see, but that doesn’t mean I ever expected to see this!
On Sunday, Twitter went crazy over reports that a man basically turned his lawn chair into the house from “Up” and was floating above the city.
Just saw this floating through the skies of Calgary. Hope it’s not a stampede #balloon vendor out of control. #yyc pic.twitter.com/xcI07rdRw9

@GlobalCalgary: Who is this idiot way up over Calgary in a chair attached to balloons? #upovercalgary pic.twitter.com/cm0qZ7hMVw

Well it turns out that Calgarians weren’t witnessing a scene from a movie, but instead a really, really crazy PR stunt.
Like really crazy.
According to CBC, the man was attempting to promote his company of cleaning supplies and his intent was to parachute onto the Stampede grounds. I guess that’s one way of saving money on admission.
The story goes on to say that the stunt featured a $10 lawn chair and 110 helium balloons.
Police eventually caught up to the guy and charges are now pending.
This is hands down the craziest thing I’ve seen during the Calgary Stampede and that’s saying something!
I like this blog very much, Its a very nice place to read and receive info . “Do pleasant things yourself, but unpleasant things through others.” by Baltasar Gracian.
