Hot Mess and Velvet Cinema present a Big Gay Christmas
Date: Saturday – December 20, 2014
8:00 PM
Location: The Plaza Cinema/Republik

Despite being filled with lies, cheating, death and children, Love Actually has become one of the most popular modern Christmas movies.  I know that made it sounds like I don’t like it, but I actually do. I just think it’s funny that it’s actually a pretty depressing movie except for like the last five minutes. Anyway, if you’re up for enduring watching Laura Linney make the wrong choice again there’s a screening of Love, Actually on Saturday, but it’s a screening like no other.

The people behind Hot Mess and Velvet Cinema are teaming up for the screening, which will feature:
—A dance-off starring friends of the family The Bad Girls Club YYC andSnap Boys
—A photo booth by Madelaine Brown Photography
—An ugly sweater competition

Then, after the movie, when your tears have dried up,  attendees will be bussed to The Republik, for a night of dancing with 3 dance floors, a special holiday performance by Vancouver-based , DQ Jem!, Sexy Santa photo booth and lap-sitting with photos by our resident photographer Ryan Kostel.

Tickets range from $15-$25 and are available here.

I’ve got two VIP tickets to giveaway!  To enter, just leave a comment in the comments section telling me which is your favourite couple in Love, Actually. You can absolutely respond Mister Bean and the Scoop.  If you’ve never seen Love, Actually, I’ll accept a Christmas haiku as your entry!
