Contest: Tickets to an award winning…Blind Date!

If you live in Calgary, you’ve probably already heard of “Blind Date” created by Rebecca Northan. It’s a local favorite story – Calgary girl chooses her hometown to launch new concept for a show and it catches like Wild fire – all the way to a North American tour and Broadway run. Before she take the show to Broadway across the pond next year, Rebecca Northan is once again bringing Blind Date home to Calgary this fall. If you’ve seen the show before you already know the drift: Mimi, a charming Parisian clown, is stood up on her blind date so she ‘goes shopping’ and chooses a gentleman from the audience to join her for a completely improvised blind date on stage. Rebecca is an all-star, and without fail each show ends up being a delightful and experience for all involved, even (especially!) for the guy dating her on stage.

This time around? Three weeks of new fun. First, for the first ‘Mimi’ will be a boy! Jamie Northan, an original cast member, will choose a lady from the audience. Then enter Christy Bruce, straight from Broadway’s Private Lives, will go on as Mimi. And finally, a week with Rebecca herself.

This show is a riot, and what I love about it (and Rebecca) is that it continues to take risks!! If that’s not enough. Northan just won best female improvisor and “Blind Date” won best comedic revue, play or series at the 2012 Canadian Comedy Awards!

Tickets range from onlyu $20-$30. But I have two ticket to give away to any night of the show’s first two weeks! To enter, leave me a comment telling me who you’d set up on a blind date.
