With summer winding down and the fall colours just waiting around the corner, it might be time to upgrade your phone for something that will capture the season like never before.  The Samsung Galaxy Mega is a new smartphone designed with content and entertainment enthusiasts  in mind and it’s now available at Telus. The latest flagship device in the Galaxy series, the Mega is an “always-on” entertainment centre that combines the connectivity and portability of a phone, with the viewing experience, power and functionality of a tablet.

So why is it called the Mega?  Well, let’s just say that size really does matter. The phone has an extra large 6.3” display, making it big enough to watch movies, play games or read books and articles, but small enough to fit in one hand comfortably and take on-the-go.  It easily slides into your back-pocket, but it’s big enough that you can quickly reach for it in your bag.

20130915_171211I’ve been playing with the Samsung Mega for a few weeks (don’t worry, you’ll get you’re own), and while the size does take getting used to, once your hand mentally adjusts to the size, the benefits of having a phone that acts as a small tablet are plentiful.  For one, I love how big Instagram and Twitter photos are on the Mega.  Not to brag, but I follow some pretty cool photographers and the bigger phone offers me the chance to see their photos the way they are supposed to.

Speaking of photos, the phone features an 8MP camera and a slew of photo modes like Rich Tone, Sound and Shot and Best Face.

And since you’ll be using the phone as a tablet and a camera, battery life is likely important, right?  Well, with moderate use my Samsung Mega has been lasting me a little more than two days, before needing to be plugged in.  If you’re out and about and love taking photos and surfing the web like I do, I long battery life is essential.

But be warned, there is a downfall to the Samsung Mega: Everyone will ask you about it and then ask to use it.  That’s the problem with having something that’s on the forefront of technology, when people haven’t seen it before and it looks as cool as the Mega, well, people want it.

So, this is your chance to have one.  Telus is offering up the beautiful and brand-new Samsung Mega along with two months of free service for one lucky reader.  To enter, check out the details below.

  1. I have to express some thanks to the writer for rescuing me from such a challenge. As a result of searching through the search engines and coming across opinions which were not productive, I believed my entire life was well over. Living minus the solutions to the problems you’ve sorted out through your main guideline is a crucial case, and the kind that would have negatively damaged my career if I hadn’t noticed your web site. The mastery and kindness in controlling a lot of stuff was very helpful. I’m not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t discovered such a point like this. I’m able to at this moment relish my future. Thank you so much for the reliable and sensible guide. I will not be reluctant to refer your web sites to any person who wants and needs guidance about this issue.
