What are you doing on August 4th?
Well, it’s a holiday, so hopefully you’re doing something fun with your day off. How’s about a take care of the planning because I’m giving away five pairs of tickets to an amazing concert at Heritage Park!
This Heritage Day, help continue Heritage Park’s 50th anniversary with an amazing concert filled with some of Canada’s most amazing voices. The special outdoor concert will feature award winning Canadian songstress Holly Cole, singer, songwriter, poet, Sarah Slean, and Canadian country duo, The Stellas. I honestly can’t think of a better night than listening to these three performers, while sitting back on a comfy chair or blanket, enjoying a warm Calgary summer night.
Tickets to the show are only $44.95, with proceeds raised going towards Heritage Park’s priceless collection of buildings and artifacts.
And don’t forget, Heritage Park is getting the celebrations started early that day, with the first 500 guests through the gates before 10:30 a.m. getting a complimentary pancake breakfast, served hot off the grill in Gunn’s Dairy Barn. Guests can also enjoy a late lunch at a licensed barbeque tent, open at 2 p.m.Heritage Day celebrations run from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will also be family-friendly concerts all day including Juno award winning children’s performer Al Simmons, folk artist Maria Dunn and Jocelyn &  Lisa.

I like Holly’s old trio stuff like Too Darn Hot and Smile!
Perfect by The Stellas!
Holly Cole – A toss up between “Baby It’s Cold Outside” – because this is the BEST version of this Christmas/Winter classic, and inevitably an outdoor concert in Calgary on August long weekend will end up being cold outside! And “Don’t let the teardrops rust your shining heart” because it’s so damned sad…..
