All this week, Mike’s Bloggity Blog will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special series called Bloggity Dates. Every day, some of the biggest names in Canadian entertainment will be dropping by to share stories of their best, worst and most embarrassing dates. If I were you, I’d take notes to ensure you have a perfect Valentine’s Day. Just be sure to invite me to the wedding.

I remember my first date in Montreal when I started at McGill University. I immediately, as most boys do, fell for a French girl. By the end of the day we had a date planned. That was the last moment I remember feeling “enthused” about our adventure. From the moment our date began, she complained. She didn’t like the food, she didn’t like the drinks, she didn’t like the bar, she was cold, her feet hurt from walking, etc. By the end of the night I just wanted to wash my hands of her and bid farewell. To my surprise, as I had assumed she had a bitter taste for me, she invited me back to her place. To my young hormonal and slightly intoxicated surprise, I said “non, merci”. Despite her obvious beauty and pouty french lips, I had no desire to kiss them, nor to hear another negative word. The walk home alone through the gorgeous snowy streets of Montreal was the only sensual experience I wanted that evening.
