Things have been busy lately. Things have been stressful. And yeah, things have been a little overwhelming.
I’ve been looking for things that make me feel happy, yeah
I think I need to talk about the movie Big.
With all the remakes, revamps and sequels out there this summer, there is just something about the 1988 comedy that really just makes my day. No matter what kind of mood I’m in, I can just think about the classic scene with Tom Hanks playing the giant piano in FAO Schwarz and just feel content.
The movie, which recently came on Blu-Ray, has always been my favorite. Even when it was made into a short lived musical, I was one of the few people that bought the soundtrack and still listen to it on a regular basis. That’s right, I STILL listen to it.
The movie has always has an unbeatable combination for me. Small kid making it big in New York City that doesn’t end up looking like Zac Efron. For a small geeky guy like me, it’s perfect.
If you are looking for a perfect summer movie, look back over twenty years, I know you’ll find it in BIG. I always do.
