July 23rd and 26th
The Festival which takes place on Prices Island Park.If you are like me and sorta new to folk music, their website is amazing because it has a media player with songs from each and every artist. Some of my favorites include: Michael Franti and Spearhead, Sarah Harmer, Steven Page and Chad Van Gaalen.
Venues all over the city.
This is a great festival and timely for father’s day.

Shakespeare in the Park

Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged and Shakespeare’s in Love.
Best Food Festival
Taste of Calgary
An entire festival based on food? check.

These are great because you can get out and try lots of different food and they are all free! What is better? A couple of tips include: leave the strollers and pets at home.
Calgary Greek Festival (June 19th-21st)
Kensington Sun & Salsa Festival (July 19th)
Inglewood Sunfest (August 1st)
Calgary Street Performers Festival (August 1st)
According to their website there are “no rules about how one must behave or express oneself-just the idea that everyone needs to share a raw unfiltered experience of being their real self.”
Or…don’t shower and you will belong.

96th Barn Birthday Celebration & Family Festival
Stuff for the whole family including magicians and a barn dance and dinner. And you get to camp right on site….you can really enjoy the night!
Most Mysterious Festival.
The Virgin Music Fest.
Will there even be one?
Since they haven’t acknowledge that there will actually be a festival, this has become Calgary’s most mysterious festival. Heck we don’t even know if it will be in Calgary.
